The American People Deserve Better

President Obama will hold a bipartisan meeting with Congressional leaders this Thursday to discuss health care reform. I hope this meeting will be truly bipartisan because we do need to address the skyrocketing cost of health care in this country.

Unfortunately, the signals coming from the Obama Administration are mixed, at best. The President and Democrat leaders seem insistent of pushing ahead with a big-government solution that the American people clearly have rejected.

In fact, the New York Times has reported that "President Obama will put forward comprehensive health care legislation intended to bridge differences between Senate and House Democrats ahead of a summit meeting with Republicans next week."

It makes me wonder why the President wants to meet with Republicans. Clearly, if the President wants to have a truly bipartisan conversation on health care with Republicans, the Democrats must listen to the American people and scrap their massive government takeover of our health care. I hope the President reconsiders his decision to push forward with a Democrat-only health care bill.

The American people deserve better.

First and foremost the healthcare bill is in violation of the tenth amendment of the US Constitution. How will republicans ban together to file a lawsuit on behalf of the American people vs. Current administration for clearly violating constitution.

I think that this president really feels that he knows better for the people than what they believe. The problem is that he really is probably wrong. His intent is good but he is deceived by the elitist progressive philosophy that says that the government should take care of the people.

You decry federal deficits, as do I. But how do you plan to balance the budget without cuts in military sepeding (over half the discretionary budget)and medical care (the biggest item in the mandatory budget?) Tax increases? Please stop offering simple solutions to the simple minded!

Of course he does not want to work with anyone... he just wants to take over the health care system.... not fix it.
