What Did The Stimulus Get Us?

This week we marked the one year anniversary of the stimulus package. What did the stimulus get us? The facts are clear: not much.

We know the new federal spending did little to create new jobs. In fact, over the last year, over 3,000,000 jobs have been lost and the debt we are passing onto our children and grandchildren, has sky-rocketed.

What’s more the stimulus was just one of the boondoggles this Congress and this administration have pursued instead of policies that lead to job creation in the private sector. Remember cap and trade, government takeover of health care, tax increases, a second stimulus and the list goes on and on.

We need some fiscal sanity and transparency here in Washington and we need it now.

Why doesn't congress push for a flat tax of 11.5% which was recently studied and if every individual with income paid there should not be any exception to this rule our nation would make its way out of debt. Leaving a smarter more cost effective business.

I believe that most Americans can not justify our presence in Iraq or Afghanistan. We will never change the culture and mindset of that part of the world nor do I believe we should. Just by pulling our troops and resources from here would greatly reduce our deficit.
Is it not time for the United States of America to regain its strength and restructure the way we do business. We are tired of the gluttony and waist of our government. There seems to be not one day that goes by that we are apprised yet once again of the corruption and theft on behalf of our political parties.
